THE PROCESS OF A FORENSIC EXCAVATION and general content inventory

ALL DEBRIS IS PROCESSED AND SIFTED THROUGH SCREENS BY EXPERIENCED EVIDENCE TECHNICIANS IDENTIFYING EACH PIECE. ANYTHING FOUND WILL BE CATEGORIZED, LOGGED AND SECURED AS EVIDENCE. THIS TYPE OF EXTENSIVE SEARCH IS AVAILABLE FOR MANY TYPES OF LOSSES INCLUDING SMOKE AND WATER DAMAGE BUT METHODS WILL DIFFER.

Forensic Content inventory is an invaluable tool to help confirm contents in a fire. This also can help RETRIEVE items the family would have otherwise lost forever.

JEWELRY

Countless jewelry items including rings, chains, pendants, broches, watches, buttons, cuff links, bracelets, necklaces, belt buckles, zippers, clasps

WEAPONS

knives, guns (still identifiable in a lot of cases), swords

Antiques

Vintage stones, coins, display figurines, antique telephones, badges

household items

keys, hangers, pieces of clothing, shoes, dishes, china and silver sets, books (yes even books), records, furniture pieces, toys, bags and purses, parts of phones, laptops, computers, radios, tvs, pots, pans, silverware, metal containers

Metal, CERAMIC, Stone and other Materials

Metal is the main component in materials left behind. In many cases you can retrieve ceramic, clay and items made of stone even from the most destructive fires. We have found an almost entirely intact clay mug someone’s child made for them. There is a possibility that other items may have survived the fire and can be analyzed to find out more about the item.
