Since the 1980's, we use content inventory as a pivotal method for detecting fraud. We make sure to clarify and confirm all contents in the fire with the assigned adjustor. This method of content verification works in total burns, even when the fire has reached the ground leaving ash in its place.
Items and pieces made up of metal and other select materials will survive even the most severe fires. That can be anything from toys, furniture hardware, clothing fasteners, dishes, jewelry, guns, coins, picture frames, appliances, a large variety of electronics, tools and many other items. You can use this technique to know what was in the home prior to the fire, even if there is no ignition source present for the fires inception.
The scene is cordoned off in blocks or sections, numbered, and all contents are documented. All information regarding the items in the house prior to the fire will be recorded and shown to the adjuster, SIU, or attorney on the case. Records will then be matched and compared against inventory sheets submitted.
SFA was the first company to offer the L.o.F report which can save the adjuster hundreds, if not thousands, on any claim. Got a vehicle/boat, piece of equipment, business, or a house fire?
